Down Syndrome-associated Alzheimer’s Disease

Advances in medical care, quality of life, personal advocacy, and community-based supports have significantly increased life expectancy for people with Down syndrome, with many living into their 50s and 60s. This is the first generation of adults with Down syndrome to reach old age, and although longer life is a milestone to celebrate, longevity for this generation presents a new challenge: Down Syndrome–associated Alzheimer’s Disease (DS-AD).

This information hub is designed for families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and others to learn more about DS-AD, find supports and resources, and better understand clinical research related to DS-AD.
