Additional Information

.Every step taken at the 22nd Annual Buddy Walk on October 4, 2025, represents a milestone in our mission: to uplift, empower, and advocate for individuals with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk is a special event, which is held at hundreds of sites throughout the country during the month of October in honor of Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Hosted locally by the Down Syndrome Network of Greater Greensboro (DSNGG), this beloved event at Keeley Park is more than a walk—it’s a celebration of ability, inclusion, and limitless potential within our community.

For families of loved ones with Down syndrome, DSNGG is a lifeline. In addition to gatherings at our STAR (Supported Therapies and Recreation) Center, we provide critical resources—from therapeutic and recreational opportunities to tutoring, scholarships, new family welcome gifts, community resources, social events, and more.

DSNGG is an entirely volunteer-run organization, and we rely on funds raised by our Buddy Walk to provide programs for families and self-advocates across all age groups and demographics.

In addition to supporting local families, 7% of the funds raised will also help support National Down Syndrome Society’s national advocacy efforts in Washington D.C.  These advocacy efforts are a critical driving force behind impactful legislation focused on improving the lives of individuals with Down syndrome across the nation.

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Buddy Walk as a participant, or if you are interested in becoming one of our beloved sponsors, please contact us at Heidi.Hiser@dsngg.org.

Thank you for the support you provide—we are so grateful to have you as a part of our village!
