National Down Syndrome Society Hosts 2026 Gala Celebrating Thriving

New York, NY (February 28, 2026) – The National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) will host its 2026 Gala at Cipriani South Street in New York City on March 12, 2026, bringing leaders in entertainment, business, advocacy, and the Down syndrome community together for an unforgettable evening of inspiration and impact.

This year’s theme, “A Night to Thrive, celebrates the extraordinary achievements of individuals with Down syndrome and the collective power of advocacy, inclusion, and opportunity to inspire a future where all individuals with Down syndrome can thrive. The evening will highlight the progress made in advancing policy, promoting equitable healthcare, expanding inclusive education, and creating meaningful employment pathways nationwide. It will also highlight the work that remains to be done, especially in Alzheimer's disease research for individuals with Down syndrome.

Featuring a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, dinner, and special performances, including a performance by Grammy nominated rock band, Daughtry, the evening will culminate with a touching program honoring champions of inclusion.

The Down syndrome community has made tremendous progress over the past few decades, and we are truly excited to come together and celebrate our collective achievements,” says Kandi Pickard, NDSS CEO. “This special evening is also a chance to look ahead with hope and determination as we continue creating even greater opportunities for every individual with Down syndrome.”

Proceeds from the 2026 NDSS Gala will directly support NDSS initiatives including national and state advocacy efforts, public awareness campaigns, community engagement programs, research, and resources for families across the United States. Funds raised help power NDSS’ work on Capitol Hill, protect and advance critical healthcare programs, and elevate inclusive practices in schools and workplaces.

The 2026 Gala is made possible through the generous support of corporate partners, community leaders, and dedicated volunteers who share NDSS’s vision of creating a world where individuals with Down syndrome thrive.
