On June 4, 2025, the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) joined leading national and state Down syndrome organizations in sending a letter to Senate leadership expressing serious concerns about Medicaid-related provisions in the recently passed House budget reconciliation bill. The letter was led by the National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC).

NDSS urges the Senate to reject these harmful provisions and instead pursue Medicaid reforms that uphold the health, independence, and dignity of people with Down syndrome and other disabilities.
