On June 23, 2025, the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) sent a letter to Senate leadership outlining critical concerns about Medicaid-related provisions in the Senate Finance Committee's proposed changes to the House passed budget reconciliation bill.
The letter highlights the unintended consequences that could happen as a result of the recently passed budget reconciliation bill and the proposed Senate changes that could pose significant risks to the health, independence, and financial stability of people with disabilities.
NDSS urges Congress to reject these harmful proposals and to protect Medicaid’s role as a lifeline for people with disabilities.
