NDSS Statement for the Record for House Ways and Means Committee Hearing on Removing Barriers to Work for Individuals with Disabilities

On September 23, 2025, the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) submitted a statement for the record for the House Ways and Means Committee Joint Social Security and Work & Welfare Subcommittee hearing titled “Untapped Talent in America: Removing Barriers to Work and Supporting Opportunity for Individuals with Disabilities,” held on September 9, 2025.

NDSS urges Congress to advance the SSI Savings Penalty Elimination Act (S. 1234/H.R. 2540), the ABLE Employment Flexibility Act (S. 2459/H.R. 4644), and other reforms that would remove barriers to employment for individuals with Down syndrome and other disabilities.
