NDSS Supports the Reintroduction of the Transformation to Competitive Integrated Employment Act (S. 2438 / H.R. 4771)

On July 25, 2025, Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Steve Daines (R-MT), and Representatives Bobby Scott (D-VA) and Pete Sessions (R-TX) introduced the Transformation to Competitive Integrated Employment Act (S. 2438 / H.R. 4771). If passed, this bill would phase out the use of certificates that allow companies to pay individuals with disabilities less than minimum wage. This is critical for members of the Down syndrome community, as it would ensure that workers with Down syndrome receive equal and fair compensation for their work from employers.
